I have a fondness for King Oberon because it was very touching that he missed Tiana and Tatiana so dearly that there was an eternal twilight. And when he saw Tiana back, it was like he came to life. To me, its a silent strong father-daughter bond. Tiana talks more of Mr. Palmer since he's the only dad she's known all her life. And I adore her mortal parents. But Oberon is one of those dads you may not know as much but he's loves you so much and he's willing to go far for you.
To me, the king was a bit complex in the fourth book "The Immortal Realm". Partly because I was with Tiana when he banished her mortal parents back to the mortal world. I thought that was unfair too. And when it was being decided if she should stay or leave and never use her gift, I was like "You're her dad! You're suppose to defend your kids!" But he's the king, I guess you're in a tight spot.
I got a little teary eyed when he asked Tiana if she would leave him. He was letting her make her decision but at the same time he wanted her there with him.
What are your guys views and thoughts on King Oberon?

I agree. He's such a sweetie. But I think he knows he has to do what's best for his people as well.

True. I just wonder how his reaction is when he learns Tiana is in the mortal world, not a single memory of Faerie in her mind.

OMG! I'd nearly forgotten about that! But didn't her parents remember? Uhoh, and don't you think Edric will try and use the Dark Arts to try and find her?

The names are Aurealis, Tania and Titania, actually. Yes, I like Oberon ... but even though he's so immensely powerful, he seems to depend a lot on his family. I suppose everybody does. He completely shut down when he lost his wife and youngest daughter, even though his other children and the entire kingdom needed him. Do you think he started the Long Twilihgt on purpose, or just lost control due to his grief?

Probably lost control. I don't think he would do that on purpose...

The Twilight really hit when Tatiana disappeared. So Tiana's disappearance as well as his wife's disapperance led up to the Twilight.

Oberon reminds me of a grown-up who still can act like a kid sometimes

He is my second- favorite character. Now that you mention it, I think Oberon is a sweetie! Awww... how cute. I think he is hard and calm on the outside, but soft and loving on the inside. Remember in the fourth book, how Tania mentioned the agony on his face after he saw Cordelia being ill? And in the first book, how happy he was when he and Tania were reunited? Also, in the third book, his soul book said Oberon Aurealis Rex. I thought that was kinda funny. (The Rex part, I mean.) Doesn't it mean "king" in Latin or something?

Yup! I kinda feel sorry for him, though. *SPOILERS* The only good things that have happened to him in the whole series were that Titania and Tania came back to him. I mean, he tries to promote Gabriel, who turns traitor. After that, Rathina runs off and releases the King of Lyoness, who puts him in an Amber Prison while he's trying to get some sleep. Then, he's stuck on this ugly, boring island with equally ugly weather for about a week. One of his kiddos dies, another gets really sick, he has to stay awake for at least five days straight, Lord Aldritch (who's a jerk, btw) throws a fit and leaves, etc. (Another btw: I'm still reading the fifth book, so it probably gets even worse.) Poor guy!
