#1 Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine (read it at least three or four times, listened to it on a CD once!) #2 The Tales of the Frog Princess series by E. D. Baker (Awesomeness! Inspiration for that Disney movie, The Frog Princess.) #3 The Faerie Path series (of course! That's why I'm on here, right?) *In no particular order.* (p.s.: Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Maximum Ride are also excellence!) ;D

Yup, The City of Ember books are great! ;D If there are any sci- fi lovers and random humor lovers, the books by Douglas Adams are good, too. Only, these are a little nasty, so for mature audiences only, and Christians might find it to be occasionally offensive. I know I did.

Has anyone read The Looking Glass Wars? It's sort of a re-telling of the story Alice in Wonderland. Alyss Hart is the princess of the realm of Wonderland, and she has to overthrow an evil queen. She basically ends up in our world in Victorian England and tries to tell people her story, but no one believes her. Lewis Carroll writes down 'her story' but messes it all up. It's really good, though.
Also, the Wondrous Strange trilogy by Lesley Livingston. It's a lot like The Faerie Path, following a similar plot line of a girl finds out she's a fairy princess and falls in love with a boy who's a fairy (well, he's not really; it's complicated), but the plot twists make it absolutely unique. It also has a version of Oberon who's more of an anti-villain, Puck, and several Shakespeare references. It's absolutely fantastic.

Yup, my buddy likes The Looking Glass Wars too. I thought they looked good, but I never read them. Also, I'd just like to point out that I took Mr. Jones's advice and am now reading The Fellowship of the Ring. It's AWSUMNESS!!!!

I've recently started reading Tolkien, too. I'm about halfway through The Two Towers. The thing about reading Tolkien is that he inspires you to write. He's just that amazing, though I'm not knocking the movies, either. They're good--very, very long, but good.

By 'anti-villain' I meant that he's kind of...odd. Like he's a darker version of a hero. He means well and does good, but some of the things he does are things that a traditional hero wouldn't do. He's just a really complex guy. I don't want to give the plot away, but like, for example, he kidnapped mortal children and took them to the fairy realm to serve on a guard to separate the two worlds. Also, I thought I'd say that I finished The Juliet Club. I really didn't think I'd like it, since it's romance/chic lit and I'm not big on either. However, it was cute and very, very good. It also has Verona, Italy, as a setting and lots of Shakespeare. I'll also tentatively reccommend Andraste. It's a new one, and I'm very, very biased towards it. It's very epic fantasy, though, with fairies, elves, unicorns, and whatnot. And if you like King Arthur, and want to read sort of a modern-classic, read The Once and Future King by T.H. White. It's very interesting, and it's the book that inspired the Disney movie, The Sword in the Stone, so if you liked that, you'll probably like the book.
